Earthing Solutions supplied and installed the switch earthing for the overhead structure on the main western rail line at Mount Victoria. The project involved:

• Supplying and installing 6 x 25m x 15mm solid copper electrodes
• Bolting connections to structures
• Installing electrode pits and clamps
• Testing

Challenge

The project was carried out under possession as there was limited access to the rail corridor. The work was performed according to a tight schedule so the lines could be ready for rail occupation.

Access was key, and the project required tight coordination between all involved.

Result

The switch earthing was installed on time and without incident.
