Supplied and installed lightning masts and down conductors for the Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport 33kV building at Mascot including:
- 4m x 2.3m galvanised lightning masts attached to pre-cast concrete walls.
- 50mm x 3.18mm tinned copper down conductors
- 50mm x 6.3mm earth bars and connections to an underground earth grid and electrodes.
Challenge:
Access to the area was tight, and needed a crane that could reach 40m to lift the lightning masts into position. We also needed to use an elevating work platform (EWP) to install the down conductors and lightning masts.
Result:
As always, safety was a high priority, and we completed the project to the design requirements without incident and to the satisfaction of the client.
